Jenaye is a Slacker..

Ok, so believe it or not..
I am totally aware that I have not updated my blog since mid-November-ish.
I am horrible at keeping up with it!

So..
I'll fill you in on what has been goin' on in my little life of mine.
Here it goes!

I am undoubtedly t-h-r-i-l-l-e-d to be done with finals!
I ended up gettin' 2 A's and 2 B's in my classes!
{Since I thought I was gonna get a few C's, needless to say, I was excited!}
I am kinda dreading next semester.
After being home for a few weeks now,
I don't exactly wanna leave again.
But
I do have a class with my brother that I'm completely looking forward to!

I am working at the best store in the entire world again:
Scrapbooks, Etc.
{P.S. You own my heart}
It definitely feels great to be back..
I'm just kinda strugglin' with learning all the new product!

And what else is new?
Well...
I've got a new cute man in my life
:)
I don't have any pictures of us together yet, but if you know anything about my mother, they will most likely be appearing very soon in the scrapbook store!
The only bad thing is:
He goes to ASU
{GO WILDCATS!!}

My Christmas was wonderful.
The parents got me a new Ipod and some much needed cash!
My Granny girl gave me some money as well after an amazing lunch she spent all day preparing!
And the new boy got me an ASU keychain that I'm not exactly plannin' on using!
:)

That's pretty much all that is new.
I will try my very hardest to keep updating this baby!
Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

Peace girls!

This past weekend

was nothing short of
AMAZING.

On Friday I turned the big 1-9.
(Mom, can you believe it?)

Well...
On Thursday, my roommate Lauren, my future roommate Morgan and our friend Lauren took me out for an early birthday dinner at BJ's.
They sang happy birthday and I even got a free pizzookie.
(If you don't know what a pizzookie is.. it can simply be described as heaven on earth with a little bit of chocolate!)

On Frday, my best friend Keli, her boyfriend Jon, and my friend David came down to Tucson to visit me.
They took me out for an incredible Mexican dinner at El Charro.
After dinner, we hung out with a bunch of our other friends til about 3 in the mornin'.
:)

Saturday was kinda interesting..
My {super cute} friend Seth planned on coming to Tucson to spend the day with me.
Too bad it didn't exactly happen that way..
He was about thirty minutes from U of A when his car broke down!
He had to wait two hours for his Dad to come rescue him and tow his car back home.
So.. I drove back to Mesa instead and we still ended up hanging out!
:)

On Sunday, my other {cute} friend Chris took me to the Jason Mraz concert.
Can I just say that I'm in love with him?!
(Chill out Mom.. I'm talking about Jason Mraz, not Chris)
:)

I didn't get to see the parents that much over the weekend..
which was a little
sad.
At least Thanksgiving is coming up so I will get to spend some time with them!

I've got a ton of work to do this week..
1. Study study study for my big weather test on Friday. (Never thought weather could be so complicated!)
2. Finish/START my essay that's due on Friday.
3. Study for huge test on Tuesday. (I don't exactly think I will be doing any studying over the weekend.. so I gotta get started like.. NOW)
4. Read a psychology book and write the essay that is due the first week of December

Jenaye is feelin' a little stressed at the moment..

Happy Tuesday girls!

Peace!

I'm a little late..

As I was sitting in class today, I was browsing blogs (sorry Mom) and I looked at Julie's. Well, she tagged me to fill this out forrevverrr ago and I just ssaw it today!! So here it goes!

I am: so excited to see my mom and dad this weekend and for my birthday next week!
I want: some really cute new winter clothes
I have: a hair appointment on Saturday that I could not be more ready for
I dislike: Chinese food and seafood
I miss: working at Scrapbooks, Etc.
I fear: not accomplishing all of my goals before I die
I feel: well-rested because I finally got eight hours of sleep for the first time in about 3 months
I hear: my Economics teacher talking about college education costs
I smell: the gross seats in this huge auditorium they call a classroom
I crave: a TOASTED bagel with cream cheese (we aren't allowed to have toasters in the dorm and I never thought I would miss them this much!)
I cry: when I think about Barkley and how much my Dad misses him
I usually: snack way too much throughout the day
I regret: not being more outgoing in high school
I search: for the classes I will be taking next semester
I wonder: what my life will be like when I'm done with college
I love: grilled cheese sandwiches
I care: about the impressions I make on others
I always: fight with my hair
I worry: about getting good grades
I am not: perfect
I remember: spending my summers with my grandparents every year in Colorado
I believe: you are capable of anything.. it just depends on how bad you really want it
I dance: when my favorite songs come on
I sing: to my Carrie Underwood CD on my way home from Tucson {really loudly}
I don't always: have a positive attitude and that needs to change :)
I argue: when I know I’m right
I write: with an underlying jealousy of other people's handwriting
I win: everyday just cause I'm alive
I lose: my keys all the time in my dorm room
I wish: I could scrapbook again
I listen: to music videos on YouTube every single day
I don't understand: politics whatsoever
I can usually be found: doing homework at my desk
I watch: The Hills every Monday night
I need: to do laundry extremely bad!
I forget: how lucky I am for all the things I have
I am happy: because I have the best friends in the entire world

I tag: Madre, Hottie Totty, and Becky

Have a great Thursday!

I can finally breathe!!

All I can say is
FINALLY!
I am stress-free and lovin' life!
I finished my ten-page paper on time
and I took the two tests that I was dreading.
Now I'm lucky enough to have a break for about a week and a half
:)

Halloween was tons of fun!
It was so cool to see all the interesting ideas that people came up with for costumes.
I was a boxer and my brother was Dog the Bounty Hunter.
I don't know if any of you know who that is, but he has to be the funniest guy I've ever seen.
I don't exactly know how to title his job,
but he literally "bounty hunts" people that have committed crimes.
He chases these people, dressed in leather, chains, and his famous mullet.
His whole family takes part in the chasing and capturing as well.
Anyways, the show is hilarious and I think Preston did a great job pulling off the look!
(And his girlfriend Ashley dressed up as Dog's wife, Beth.)

Since I'm not going home the weekend of my actual birthday, I am going home this weekend to celebrate early with the two coolest people I know:
Madre and Daddy-O
I can't wait!
:)

That's pretty much all that has been goin' on in my life.
I'm looking forward to Christmas vacation so I can work at my favorite place in the world!
I miss you Scrapbooks, Etc.!!!!

Have a great week!
Peace!

This week

This week has been:

{fun}
{stressful}
{frustrating}
{long}

At the beginning of the week, I was straightening my hair when out of nowhere, I heard a big "CRACK".
I took the straightener out of my hair and saw that the spring on the handle broke, so now when you clamp it shut, you also have to pull it back open.
I never realized how much I love springs until this very second.
So.. for the past few days...
My fingers have been burned
My hands have been pinched

and
Curly hair strands have undesirably been left unstraightened

On Tuesday night,
I went to a coffee shop with a few of my friends to study.
Can I just tell you how old I felt?
All of the people there looked like professors
and I felt out of place..
to say the least.
It turned out to be pretty fun though, and I'm sure we will be going again.
[Maybe I'll get one of those delicious-looking desserts that were staring at me the whole time while I was there.]
:)

Last night,
Lauren (my roommate) and I were sleeping and around 2 am, we both heard a really loud noise.
We would have gotten up to investigate,
but those 8-foot high dorm beds were feelin' way too comfortable at the time.
When we got up this morning,
our mirror was laying face down on the floor.
(I knew that stupid tape wouldn't hold it up to the wall for very long)
We picked it up and the whole mirror was
shattered.
{dun dun dun}
I have a big mirror of my own,
but with two girls tryin' to get ready in the morning..
I just don't think one is gonna cut it.
I guess we will be living in the community bathroom for a while..

My madre is in Arkansas right now and I'm kinda really
jealous.
The last time she went, she bought me a really cute purse,
so I'm keepin' my fingers crossed for the same luck on this trip.
:)

I have two tests next week and a 10-page paper due in less than a week,
so I will be pretty busy.
I will try to update my blog,
but as always,
I can't make any promises!
Happy Thursday!

Peace!

Barkley..

This one's for you.
<3

After growing up with you, it seems impossible to me that you are gone.
I remember the first day we brought you home..
Preston and I gave you a grand tour of the house while we pulled you around, full of excitment for our new white puppy.
At the time, Preston was
{obsessed}
with the Phoenix Suns,
so it just didn't seem right if we didn't name you
"Barkley"
after the amazing 'Charles Barkley'.

I am sorry for the times that I dressed you up,
even though I knew you hated it.
Or when I would run out the front door,
forgettng to tell you goodbye.
Or those times when I wouldn't give you any of my food,
and you sat there with those big green eyes, begging.
Or for dragging you into the bathtub,
that you absolutely
despised.

I don't know what we are going to do without you.
Now that you're gone,
I've learned that
[a] Life is too short.
[b] Life is taken too seriously; there's always time for fun.
[c] The love for a dog can match that of the love for any human.

Thank you, Barkley, for being Dad's, Mom's, Preston's and my best friend.
We love you,
and we will miss you Barkster.

In the past two weeks...

I have realized:

1. I am amazingly behind on blogging.
2. College is a lot harder than I expected. With two failed tests and one quickly apporaching, I'm gettin' just a little stressed..
3. I miss my friends at home.
4. I'm so tired of not working at the place I love and adore.
5. The single life isn't horrible.. yet.
6. I wish my madre was here chillin' with me.
7. I can't get over the cravings for my Dad's pancakes for breakfast.. I'm settlin' for poptarts as of right now.
8. I have a few things in my life that could use improvement.
9. Running and going to the gym are totally awesome stress-relievers.
10. This girl just wants to be able to scrapbook again!!

This weekend will be tons of fun..
I've got the two best people in the entire world comin' to see me:
Madre and Dad
The bro will be taggin' along too.
We are going out for dinner and we will be screamin' our hearts out at the football game against Washington.

Go U of A!!

Well, I've still got a ton of homework and I've been strapped to my desk since 1 this afternoon..

I'm not makin' any promises, but I will TRY to blog later this week!

Peace!

Yes, I know...

I am aware that I have been slackin'
BIG TIME.
But I'm a busy girl down here in Tucson!

I have essays to write, projects to do, tons of reading,
AND
studying on top of all that.

Um..
I didn't think it was gonna be this hectic..
Help?

Now that I got that out..
I was sick from Friday to Monday
and I even stayed home from the Saturday night football game.
:(
Oh well, there will be more!

Last week went pretty well,
besides all the work that keeps piling up
and is continuously falling on me..
when I least expect it.

And guess what??
I am coming home this weekend!!
(This is the part where my mom jumps for joy)
:)

I better get back to homework..
and at least try to get ahead for this weekend.

Catch ya later!

My First Week

Overall, I think my first week here went pretty dang well.
And I have to say.. a lot better than I expected.
I'm sure you're dying to hear my day-by-day experiences, so before you ask, I will tell.
:)

On Monday, I woke up at 7 o'clock even though my first class started at nine. I took a shower the night before so all I had to do that morning was fix the hair, do the make up, and eat a nice, big breakfast.
Too bad I didn't get around to eating..
I was soo nervous about being late, or getting lost on my way to class that it seriously took me FOREVERRR to get ready.
I know I take way too long to get ready anyways, but this was just ridiculous!

I walked into my first class (Intro. to Weather and Climate) and scrambled to the first open seat I could find.
(which was a little hard since there are 300 kids packed into this room)
My professor, who is a really cool guy, started talkin' about all these weather terms that I had no idea even existed. I mean, it woulda been a little easier if I had at least heard of these words, but they all sounded like a mix between French, German, and those strange kids on TV that you see trying to make up their own secret language.

My next class (Making American Culture) was a little better..
and I do mean a LITTLE.
My professor told the class (this time 500 kids) that 1/4 of us would drop out of this course because of how difficult it was.

Say what?

I was kinda diggin' Tuesday...

My first class (An Economic Perspective) was really cool. My professor is totally chill and incredibly funny.

The Structure of Mind and Behavior, my second class, seemed like it was going to be a really interesting class. The professor is great, and one of my good friends is in the class with me...
which definitely makes all the difference
:)

So yeah,
school went great that day, but it wasn't 'til the evening that I hit a little bump in the road..
I was back at the dorm, washing my dishes in the bathroom when
all of a sudden
the electricity goes out!
Of course, just my luck...
there is a girl in the bathroom stall and she came running out, immediately asking me why I turned the lights out on her.
Oh gosh..
was this really happening?
My second day and I already have someone that thinks I'm horrible.
GREAT...

There wasn't a whole lot that occurred on Wednesday.
I attended the same classes I had on Monday and everything went smoothly.
However, after carrying about what seemed like 30 pounds of school stuff in my arms, I realized a backpack was a necessity.
(A stinkin' cute backpack that is)

Thursday was my least favorite day of the week..

In my first class, I was sitting next to a guy that was...
different?
Long story short, he ended up falling asleep and he kept nodding off in my direction, occassionally hitting my shoulder and or my arm with his forehead.
Um.. not my idea of comfortable..

My second class went great.. but then I had to attend a "study session" for the class I had gone to that morning. We have to go to these sessions for 5 weeks and if our first test grade is above a 75%, they become optional.
I walked into the engineering building (where my session was being held) and it looked like the smallest building I had seen so far on campus.
I was in room 307, which means my classroom was on the third floor.
Looking at the building from the outside, there was no way there was 3 floors to this thing.
And studying on the roof was outta the question for me.
I walked inside and luckily, a teacher was standing in the hall, so I asked him and sure enough, there were 3 floors to this building.
(coulda fooled me)
It all turned out great though, cause I ended up having 2 friends in there that I didn't even know had the same class as me!

To finish off the week...
Friday went great.
I finished with my classes at eleven and then went to the mall and bought a backpack.
:)

I will blog later this week and let you know if anything interesting happened during my second week.
Hopefully it won't be another kid falling asleep on me, or girls thinking I like to leave them hostages in dark bathrooms..

Peace!

Dear University of Arizona,

I am very mad at you for taking me away from my friends and family in Mesa.
I am very disappointed that you are making me take difficult classes.
I am very frustrated because of all the clothing vendors that you allow to distract me on my way to class every single day.
(Accompanied by the freakin cute shoes and totally hot sunglasses)
I am very upset that you forced me to leave my wonderful job at Scrapbooks, Etc. because of your jealous nature of wanting me all to yourself.
I am very apprehensive because I have no idea how to get around this boring little town that you call "home".

But...

I am very proud to be in your company.
I am very excited that you have forced me to be more social and make new friends.
I am very thankful that my schedule is pretty easy, for the most part.
I am very lucky and appreciative that you are giving me a bright future and all the tools I need to succeed.

And maybe.. just maybe..
when I finish all this dang homework, I can tell everyone how my first week with you went.

From,
Jenaye

My Dorm

So.. it has taken me forever to get these pictures posted of my dorm room.
But, here they are finally!
All I have left to do is make a bulletin board to go behind my desk and buy a few more small storage containers.

Here is what the dorm was like before I got everything situated...

And here are the pictures after I got the room somewhat situated

Classes start on Monday and I'm just a little nervous.
Ok, maybe more than just a little..

I will blog later next week and let you know how my classes went!

Peace Girls!

Today's the Day...

It is 12:51 am right now... and I'm still not done packing..

I have no clue what I'm actually going to NEED and how much room I have for my clothes in my 33 inch closet..

I did really really good at weeding out which purses I absolutely had to have with me and I narrowed it down to only 3.
:)
I didn't think it was possible..

My shoes, on the other hand, were not as easy to part with...
I figured since most of them were flip flops, I should stash as many in my bag as possible.
I think I have about 10 pairs or so that I'm taking.

What else is new?
Friday was my last day working at Scrapbooks, Etc.
(at least until Christmas break and next summer)
The girls were so so thoughtful and gave me a HUGE-ish laundry basket with tons of goodies packed inside.

Michelle Aguilar, a regular customer and friend at the scrapbook store, came in and gave me the cutest goodie basket everrr!
Here's what was all inside..

Im leaving at 9 o'clock tomorrow mornin' and I better get the rest of my packing done..

Night girls!

Only 8 More Days..

Can you believe it?
I move down to Tucson in only 8 stinkin' days!

It's times like these that I wish my life was like Monopoly...
cause then I could get one of those lovely
"Get out of Jail Free" cards
and if that were the case, I would be staying right here in Mesa town.

I did meet my roommate this past week though,
and I'm kinda really super
{jealous}
cause she is so freakin' cute!
I think we are gonna have a great time together
and I'm very lucky to have gotten such a cool roommate.
:)

I probably won't be blogging for the rest of the week
cause I will be busy getting everything ready to go.

Peace girls!

Thursday, July 31, 2008

Yep...

Jenaye FINALLY got a blog! I'm only... like.. 17,504,982 years behind the game now. :) My page is kinda really super plain, but I'm still tryin' to get the hang of this whole blog deal. Myspace has brainwashed me and this is totally different than what this girl is used to!

As most of you know, I will be leaving for the University of Arizona in August and as it quickly approaches, I'm becoming more and more terrified. Actually, no, not terrified..
just very

{unexcited}

I very well could have just made up that word.. but that pretty much sums it up.
I don't know about you.. but a 10x15 dorm room to be shared with another gal just doesn't sound that appealing.
Yeah yeah... it will be a completely new experience and I'm sure I will love it in
"nothing-to-do-son"
:/

There's just one tiny problem...
Where the HECK am I gonna keep all these bad boys?!

Well, that's it for tonight.
I will keep trying to jazz up my blog somehow..
Maybe even ask my madre for some help
:)
Night girls!
